What we collect, and why

We never ask for more than we need, and we collect no special categories of personal data. You are welcome to mention an allergy with your order — we use that only to prepare your food correctly.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics software. We keep no visitor statistics and share nothing with advertising networks. That is also why you see no cookie banner here: there is nothing to accept or decline.
No part of these pages is fetched from a third party. Fonts, stylesheets and scripts are all served from our own server. Your browser therefore contacts neither Google nor any other network in order to display this site, and your IP address is handed to no one in the process. If you click a link yourself — to Instagram, Uber Eats or Michelin, for instance — you leave our site and that company's own privacy policy applies.
Your browser stores your shopping basket locally on your own device (localStorage) so it survives a page reload. That data stays on your device and never reaches our server.
Who sees your data?
Your form submissions arrive in the restaurant's mailbox. They also necessarily pass through our hosting provider, which runs the website and the email. We do not sell your data and do not pass it to third parties for marketing.
The kitchen printer
If you order online, your order is also printed on paper in the kitchen so the team can prepare it without having to consult a screen. To make that possible your order is placed in a protected queue on our own server. A device in the restaurant collects that queue over an encrypted connection using a secret key; the queue cannot be requested from outside.
The ticket shows your first and last name, your phone number, your pick-up time, the dishes you ordered and any notes you added, so the kitchen can reach you if something is unclear. Your email address is not on it. The device itself keeps only the order numbers it has already printed, to prevent the same ticket coming out twice.
How long we keep it
Emails containing orders and reservations stay in the restaurant's mailbox for as long as our administration and accounting require.
Two technical files also sit on the server:

Both are cleaned up automatically and neither can be retrieved over the web. The paper tickets stay in the restaurant and are destroyed once they are no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, and to object to processing. Email info@kouzi.be. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
